Class Warfare Counterattack

In the last few days the term class warfare has been starting to creep into news reports in regard to increasing taxes on the wealthy to help pay for health care.  It may be a form of class warfare against the rich for them to pay higher taxes but I view it as the first counterattack in a war that has been going on for years against the poor and working class of America.  The new twist is the fact that the rich will have to pay instead of the average citizen.

The honest truth is that even with a higher tax in place to provide health care for those who cannot afford it, the deck will still be stacked heavily in favor of the wealthy.  Just like a Vegas casino they are the house.  They have the money, the power and the security that comes with it.  They make the odds and everyone else is left to struggle to just stay even, let alone beat the odds.

The wealthy own the companies, with all the tax incentives and benefits that come with them.  As the owners they also control whether or not people are employed, how much they are paid and what benefits they will grant us for the privledge of working for them.  The first things they cut to keep profits up are jobs, wages and benefits.

The wealthy own the stocks in and are the officers of the major corporations.  The same corporations that seek every way possible to cut cost, even going so far as to sell unsafe and dangerous products.  These corporate entities hold major political power thus giving them opportunity to influence laws in their favor.  When stocks fall the first things they cut to maintain their salaries and bonus structure are jobs, wages and benefits.

The wealthy control the banks, credit card and mortgage companies.  The same companies that made hundreds of billions of dollars in interest, fees, and penalties by loaning money to people that they knew could not possible pay them back.    The companies that have forced hundreds of thousands of Americans from their homes after the other business interest they control took away their jobs.

The wealthy control the medical and pharmaceutical companies.  The same health care providers whose prices have gone up by a factor of ten over the last ten years.  The same health care companies whose prices are predicted to increase by a factor of ten over the next ten years.  Left unchecked they will  remove even the hope of the best health care from the average American reserving it for themselves and their cohorts.  All the while making more money in the process.

The wealthy control the insurance providers.  They double rates every year then cancel policies when people become ill.  They refuse the best health care to the majority of policy holders.  They charge people with any sort of preexisting condition premiums that are more than they make in a year.  The money just keeps flowing into their bank accounts.

The wealthy have a major hold on our elected officials.  The leaders that are elected to office to protect the interests of ALL Americans are bent to the will of the wealthy who provide the money to put them in office and continue supporting them with funds and bribes from special interest groups, lobbyists and P.A.C.s.  If you have a problem as an average citizen I can promise you your Senator or Congressman will NOT take your call unless they happen to need some good press.

Polluting our air, food and water along the path of corruption and greed was not enough.  Taking our jobs, homes and cars was not enough.  Rushing dangerous medicines to market and selling us tainted products was not enough.  In many cases taking our very life was still not enough.  Even destroying the very world we live in could not satiate their thirst for power and money and destroying the American dream was never a consideration for them.

They used the money they made off us to hire officials that would bend and even break the law to protect their mutual interest.  In the end they sold not just us but our children in what looks to be indentured servitude to rob us of the very taxes we pay to provide basic services in our nation.  Hundreds of billions of dollars have recently gone into their pockets.  What has not been slotted to bail out their corrupt corporations will go to projects that will allow them to hire some of us back.   But in the end they will make even more money off those same projects.  All the while those who are lucky enough to go back to work will be thankful to those who fired them in the first place to line their own pockets.

The working class and poor in this country are being reduced to little more than a pack of groveling dogs, happy whenever the masters throw out a few bones.

The way I see it the war between the classes began long ago.  The battle for health care is but the first step in the attempt to return the status quo to this country.

The wealthy would do well to read their history.  If things keep on along the same path, history shows that uprisings are inevitable.  History also shows that open warfare between the classes ends in the death of the wealthy lords and a redistribution of  wealth.
