Republican Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska recently issued an all but empty threat.  That threat issued to all bloggers and news agencies was  libel law suits against those who speak out negatively about her and why she suddenly and without good reason resigned.

Rumors are rampant as to why she resigned running the gambit from upcoming indictments for fraud and embezzlement to starting her own party.  One thing is certain however, she has joined the ranks of fallen Republican leaders.  I for one hope that when she is out of office that she is gone for good.  Even in her resignation speech we had to torture our brains to try and figure out just what the hell she was trying to say.

As the spotlight of public attention shone on her, her popularity plummeted.  Ethics violation charges bloomed up like weeds in a field and criminal charges came against family members and friends.  Being a former beauty queen she gave statements that, like so many of her peers, left us scratching our heads and wondering “What the hell did she just say?”.

The fact is, the more we knew about her, the less we liked her.  From ties to secessionist political groups to the famous demon removal video many Americans began to think of her as a kook.  Unlike President Obama who kept his children out of the limelight of politics, Palin paraded her family like accessories then cried foul whenever anyone looked closely at her pretty baubles.  Her claim that she was defending us from Russia was a joke that she was serious about and her knowledge of Supreme Court decisions ended with Roe V. Wade.  In short she was in no possible way ready for prime time and like a pretty flower she wilted under to much attention.

Only time will tell what caused this megalomaniac to give up her power but I am sure the issue will be serious.  We at lunacanus will watch for what will have to be hundreds of thousands of law suits against small bloggers who criticized her and the effect those legal actions will have on the first amendment.

Lastly we will have to see, if like so many other beauties that have taken a fall on the stage, she can put on another skimpy outfit and fresh makeup and strut her stuff on the national runway once again.  I for one hope she stays behind the curtain and tends to her own obviously demented family and beliefs.
