Sarah Palin – Chronic Liar
Unless you have been living in a cave and totally away from any news source whatsoever, you know that Sarah Palin has written a book and you know she is on a book tour. Actually, you can’t get away from it.
You also should be well aware of the lies Palin has been caught red handed telling. This Republican goddess of the conservative wingnut Christians simply does not know how to tell the truth about anything no matter how small. All people lie to some extent, but Palin lies in a grandiose manner that is, to put it simply, breath taking.
My father used to say about chronic complainers ‘they’d bitch if you hung em with a new rope.’ With Sarah its ‘she’d lie if you hung her with a new rope.’ In other words, nothing is too mediocre or too unimportant to lie about. She just fits the story to whatever situation she finds herself in at the moment.
I’m no psychologist, but I also think Sarah quits when she finds the situation she is in no longer measures up to the fantasy lie she has built in her head. I would like to think that she quits because she gets embarrassed or is afraid of being caught in her lies. But I don’t think it is possible to embarrass Sarah and I think she believes her lies because they are part of her made up world that is all too real to her.
From The Daily Beast:
This summer, remember, Todd Purdham wrote in Vanity Fair that several Alaskans had told him, “independently of one another, that they had consulted the definition of ‘narcissistic personality disorder’ in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders—‘a pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy’—and thought it fit her perfectly.” At the time, this struck me as a stretch, since all politicians are narcissistic and grandiose to one degree or another. But it turns out there’s a real connection between this disorder and Palin’s chronic dishonesty.
Narcissistic personality disorder, Ford says, is one of the personality structures associated with chronic lying. For the narcissist, his or her internal world is more real than the external world. “Internal reality is not necessarily the same as external reality,” says Ford. “Therefore when they say things it’s a product of their internal reality, they way they want things to be, the way they believe things to be. They’re not very sensitive to those correcting mechanisms that most of us have that bring us back [to reality].” He continues, “[T]hey do not experience themselves as lying, because they are saying things out of their internal world, and they manufacture their internal world to fit [their] internal needs. Obviously that makes people like this dangerous in positions of great power.”

Palin has now messed up on her book tour by leaving some of her ardent fans who stood outside in the cold and rain for hours, without the promised signature in the books they purchased. Many of these people are fans no longer and say they are returning the books to the store for a refund. You have to forgive them if it appears to them as though Sarah once again…..quit.
Maybe this being an author and running around like a rock star in your own bus to book signings isn’t the fun she imagined it would be. Perhaps it is time for Sarah Palin to leave the public stage and seek mental health professionals to help her with her congenital lying.
