Senator Franken on Health Reform

The junior Democratic Senator from Minnesota, Al Franken used his time on the senate floor during debate Saturday night to full advantage.  This man knows how to tell it like it is and he speaks directly to many of us in this country.  His entire floor speech is over thirty minutes and is great.  But in the interest of time, I have put up the first part of his speech.  To me, it says what is so wrong with health care in this country and why it is imperative that it be reformed for the good of all.

After listening to Senator Franken, you will understand why the Republican Party was so afraid of him coming to DC.  In their view, a person who can speak in understandable language directly to Americans is a threat and Senator Franken is a nightmare for them second only to President Obama.

Al Franken said, long before he was elected that he wanted to pick up the late Paul Wellstone’s battle flag and carry it for the people of his state.  In my view, Paul Wellstone would be proud and Al Franken is carrying the banner for his state as well as for the majority of the country.

Now there is a man I would like to have a beer with.

Watch and see what I mean.  Way to go, Al!
