Hard Time for New Congressman

By BobbiV

Remember I told you about Sean Duffy, the Republican House member from Wisconsin who said he has trouble making it on his salary of $174,000.00 per year? Well now poor Freshman member of the House Duffy is running into more problems.

This time he is having trouble convincing his constituents that the Republican budget plan done by Paul Ryan is really good for them and will meet their needs.  In fact, constituents are coming to Town Hall Meetings armed with facts and figures proving just the opposite of what Republicans are trying to say the Ryan budget does.

What is a freshman house member to do now when it starts to dawn on him that all he has to rebut the voters arguments are some hackneyed talking points and a couple of pretty looking charts?  It really makes no difference because one thing these tea bagger Republicans can do is stay on message and accept no proof their numbers or anything else are wrong, no matter how conclusive that proof may be.  In order to understand this, you must realize that logic does not enter into their thoughts or plans.

Watch Sean Duffy as his constituents try to get him to see reason beyond his party line unreasonableness.

Okay, good Wisconsin citizens know heir facts. Now watch Sean Duffy lose his argument with his district’s voters and give a smart alec answer to shut them up.

Mr. Duffy, maybe you should stick closer to DC. These breaks you get to come home to connect with voters aren’t working.

As a matter of fact, this is how badly they are going.

From Roll Call;

Former state Sen. Pat Kreitlow (D) has announced plans to challenge GOP freshman Rep. Sean Duffy in Wisconsin’s 7th district, a seat Democrats view as a top pickup opportunity in 2012.

“I started exploring the possibility of a Congressional campaign after the new Republican majority began to show it had no interest in keeping its promise to focus on job creation and economic recovery back home,” Kreitlow said in a statement. “The last straw for me was Sean Duffy’s vote to blow up Medicare, a promise we make to every middle class American that says decades of hard work will be rewarded with a retirement filled with the chance to stay healthy. … This is no time for a Congressman to be so severely disconnected to what northwest Wisconsin needs from our representative to Washington.”

Ouch, not even in DC for four months and you already have a challenger for 2012?  That is record time Mr. Duffy.  Of course, the Republicans are saying your challenger is a tax and spend liberal, so you should beat him handily.  I mean you and your wife were reality TV stars on MTV so it should be a piece of cake to get re-elected, right?……….Right?
