As a forty something single guy I have a lot of time to sit and look at the world.

I started out in a small town in Kansas that was going from rural to residential.  I grew up with my grandparents and mom in the same home and felt very secure with my life.

Where it would go I could have never predicted and where it will end I cannot say.

At the age of forty two I have been mostly a worker and had a brief stint as a semi wealthy business owner.  I remain the former and miss the latter.

My family taught me a lot of things over the years, some good and some bad.  One of the things I have learned is that making more money is not an answer.  The jury is still out about being a good person but we will all find the answer to that question eventually.

I do know this, my family has fought and bled for this country for hundreds of years.  We came hear as indentured servants and went on to be workers, governors and statesmen.  There is even a town in Wisconsin named after my grandmothers side of the family.

I also know that I could claim some sort of royal title.  I could be the some hundredth in line for a title if I wanted to, but what is the point of that?  Many would buy beg or steal what I could claim by blood and birth.  I say a title never has been and never will be a measure of a man.

The measure of a man is his actions.  Though I have found myself  in a position where I could not pay my bills and defaulted on more than one, I have never left a friend or a fellow human being in need if I could help.

I am a working man, an  American citizen and I try to be  a fair person.

On this blog, I only offer my views on current events and try to throw in some history and truth determined by facts, not ideology.
