Think about this a minute.  The crazy tea baggers could end up after the election in November with some of their bat guano crazy members actually setting up camp in DC as Senators or House members and residing in the governors mansion of a state or two.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I do not want to see Christian Conservative Republican wing nuts even elected dog catcher.  Let alone having their hands on a steering wheel.  Thought the Bush gang tried to drive us over a cliff?  These crazies that are now running want to go back to his administrations policies and then some.

If you listen, you will hear a constant and eerily similar set of goals coming from these people.  To say the least, it isn’t in the best interests of the everyday people of this country.  However corporations and the very wealthy will love it.

It may actually be easier to list the departments of government they don’t want to do away with. Department of Education?  Get rid of it.  Social Security, Medicare and Unemployment Benefits?  Get rid of them.  Dump all regulations on business.  FDA, EPA,EEOC?  Gone, gone, gone.  Separation of Church and State?  Yeah, throw that out.  We can dictate your religion.

I realize they won’t have the numbers to accomplish their goals, even if they won every office they have a candidate running for.  But remember, their goals have been the goals of the Republican Party since Saint Ronnie was in office and those self same Republicans will buy into their agenda and vote with them.  So let’s say they don’t have the numbers…..yet.

These people scare me from only one perspective.  They are so stupid.  They throw the word Fascist around a lot and they don’t realize the Republican Party is very Fascist, indeed.  Here is how Fascism works as defined by Wikipedia:

Fascists seek to organize a nation according to corporatist perspectives, values, and systems, including the political system and the economy.

Sound familiar?  It should, you have been hearing about it in one form or another since Reagan.  Let the corporations rule.  The bottom line is more important than people ever could be.

If you want to get a perspective of what life under the reign of the tea baggers would be like read some novels by Charles Dickens.  Child labor, debtors prisons, corporate run police departments, fire departments and prisons.  Ah yes, the good old days!

I am going to do my best to see these people go home to their own residences after the November election.  Like Alan Simpson, I don’t want to pay for the cow tit they would be sucking off of.

To prevent the election of these crazy loons we all must work to defeat them and get out the vote for our side.  They are crazy and really, really don’t deserve the public trust.

The video below will help bring the point home.

Are pigs flying?

Alan Graysons New Ad

Posted under Elections,House,National Happenings, education by brian on Saturday 28 August 2010 at 12:56 pm

Democratic House of Representatives member Alan Grayson of Florida has a new ad out in his district. As usual with ads that are targeted to the local citizens of a district, it doesn’t have  the panache of a national Democratic ad.  But this is Alan Grayson so the ad hits his opponent hard where it hurts using just the truth.

I personally really, really like Grayson and I wish we had many more Democratic fighters like him who were willing to talk truth to power in the Congress.  Maybe in the next Congress Grayson could give lessons to the other Democratic representatives.

Here is the ad, see what you think.

Hey, you know what?  I think this guy is going to go a lot further in politics.  How about you?

Tuesday Primaries—Again

Posted under Elections,House,Local,National Happenings,Press Follies,Senate,State,Video by brian on Tuesday 24 August 2010 at 5:44 pm

During the lead up to the elections every two years we have a whole series of primaries.  They are held on Tuesdays and sometimes it seems like primary season goes on and on and on.  Perhaps it seems that way because it is that way, the season is very long.  However, I don’t hold much hope of bringing all the primaries under one set of rules and election dates.  It just isn’t going to happen.

As you all should be aware, Today is a Tuesday in an election year.  That means today we have primaries.  The players today will be Alaska, Arizona, Florida and Vermont.  We also have a run off to decide the winners in Oklahoma that for some reason couldn’t be decided when that state had its primary.

Will we see a continuance of incumbents being defeated in record numbers?  What record numbers, you say?  The vast majority of incumbents are winning, you say?  My answer to you is…..exactly.

The press has to have something to talk about and speculate about.  Otherwise they wouldn’t be paid those ginormous amounts of money for their opinions.  So even if they make it up, it seems the only choice we have is to humor them.

It doesn’t seem to matter if you watch Fox or not, all the media has picked up the phantom incumbents are out story.  Republican, Democratic, conservative, liberal doesn’t matter.  If you are an incumbent, you’re toast.

But that isn’t the truth, you say?  My answer to you is…shush up and let’s enjoy the show cause they are going to keep saying it anyway.

Watch the video below and get a real perspective on the truth in this primary season from the best of the press Rachel Maddow.

Grayson Speaking about Elections

Posted under Elections,House,National Happenings,Video by brian on Monday 23 August 2010 at 8:12 pm

Democratic member of the House, Alan Grayson of Florida has been targeted by Republicans.  The reason he is at the top of their list for defeat is simple.  He tells them the truth and they do not want to hear it.

They would rather follow the lead of the tea baggers and wing nuts in their party and stick their heads in the sand.  When your ears are covered in sand you cannot hear the truth so you don’t have to acknowledge it.

But Alan Grayson isn’t about to back down.  He is a fighter as well as a truth speaker and he will continue because I really don’t think he knows another way.  I find that very refreshing.  Listen as he explains why he has a big target on his back.  And by the way he has received death threats and dire warnings from the other side.

Congressman with Guts is a great name for his website because he is definitely a Congressman and he surely has guts.  If you live in his area, try to give him some volunteer time.  If you don’t live in the area, drop him a few dollars if you can spare it.  He is certainly a Representative who deserves and has earned the time and the money.

Now enjoy the video.

Angle Hearts Bachmann

Posted under Elections,House,National Happenings,Right Wing Nuttery,Senate,Video by brian on Sunday 15 August 2010 at 3:01 pm

I hesitated putting this video up on this site because I wasn’t really sure what would happen when you put so much of the crazy in one small post.  But then I looked and saw tea bagger and wing nut sites seem to be moving along.  So I decided the risk was worth it.

I didn’t think you could get a better illustration of tea bagger wing nut crazy than Republican House member Michele Bachmann from Minnesota.  Then along came the Republican Senate candidate from Nevada, Sharron Angle.

Separately these women are hard to take.  Together they make the logical, reality based side of your brain bleed.  So watch this video very carefully and have aspirin close by for the headache afterward.

After that, there is only one thing to say Arghhhhhhh.

BP = Ballot Poison

Posted under Elections,House,Local,National Happenings,Senate,State, environment by brian on Thursday 17 June 2010 at 6:48 pm

There is a movement afoot that asks voters to not vote for candidates who receive campaign contributions from BP.  Actually, it goes even farther by saying they will not vote for a politician whose party receives donations from BP unless the politician refuses money from that party.

This is bad news for some politicians, especially some from Texas and the Gulf States.  It could drive them to reconsider their politics and their stands on issues.  It would affect both the Republican and Democratic Party because each receive money from BP as well as other big oil corporations.

Following is the last part of the petition.

THEREFORE, we pledge to BOYCOTT any vote we may have otherwise cast for any candidate for any office who receives campaign funding from BP plc or any subsidiary thereof, or any candidate who has previously received funding from BP and fails to return the unused portion, upon receipt of this petition. If any candidates do receive campaign funding from BP plc or its subsidiaries, we pledge to VOTE for a competing candidate who has not received funding from BP, WRITE IN a candidate of our choosing who has not received funding from BP, VOTE FOR NONE OF THE ABOVE, or ABSTAIN FROM VOTING in protest.

In the case of a POLITICAL PARTY receiving general funding from BP plc, we pledge not to vote for candidates affiliated with this party unless they do not accept funding from their party’s national committee.

You can read the rest of the petition and sign it if you wish at the link below.

Petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/bp2010/petition.html

Now, let’s just see who does the right thing for the voters and for the environment.

I would love to be a fly on the wall and see the look on the faces of the Congress critters when they receive a copy of this petition.  Bet they will turn a little green—just like the swamp frass that once lined the Gulf Coast.

Bachmann is not Silly-Shes Stupid!!!

I have always thought Republican member of the House, Michele Bachmann from Minnesota was silly and quite possibly certifiably nuts.  Now I realize the poor woman, like her pal Sarah Palin, is just plain stupid.

Yep, dumb as a post, lacking in  gray matter stupid.  What did she burn all the brain cells with?  I am sure there are more than a few people out there that would like to have some.   Personally, since she comes from the big woods, I think she got hold of some very, very strange mushrooms.  On the other hand, it seems mean to blame the Bachmann brand of stupid on a naturally growing thing.

I have proof of what I am saying in the video that accompanies this post.  Listen to her as she rants against President Obama because he wasn’t there on the first day of the oil gusher in the Gulf.  She wants to know why the government didn’t commandeer boats and take over to fix the problem.

This mental midget claims to be for smaller government and claims she is terrified of government interference in state matters.  She says she is a Libertarian like Rand Paul, so how can she possibly want the government to come in and take over private vessels?  She loves big business and claims in a free market they will do the right thing without regulation or government interference.  So how can she possibly support taking the responsibility for an oil leak away from the big oil corporation that caused it?  Won’t they do the right thing?

I must admit this woman is confusing.  How can her constituents possibly rely on anything she says when in the next breath she says the opposite?  I don’t know.  You watch the video and see what you think.  In the meantime, I will positively state that I think she is just stupid as a sack of doorknobs.

Maybe this is what Bachmann thinks Obama should have done?

Republicans Upset With Boehner

Posted under Elections,House,Right Wing Nuttery by brian on Friday 21 May 2010 at 6:45 pm

It seems all is not well with minority party House members.  They are upset over the loss of the Pennsylvania House seat that was formerly held by the late Democratic legend, John Murtha.  They really, really thought they were going to win and instead they got trounced by double digits.

So who are the House Republicans upset with?  None other than their Minority Leader, John Boehner (R-OH).

Could it be that Republicans are beginning to see some writing on the wall?  They are not winning special elections with the exception of the Massachusetts Senate seat that went to the centerfold pick up driver.

Tea baggers are not enough of the voting population to make the big difference and most would vote Republican anyway.  They need Independents or the Republicans  have no chance of winning, let alone taking over the majority.  They just might be in the initial phases of believing the polls that  plainly tell them the Democratic side is not real popular right now, but they are even less liked.  Their brand is really, really in the toilet and their leaders put it there.

Boehner has never been the most liked Congress critter with his colleagues.  Lots of them can surely see what a total ass he is.  He certainly doesn’t hide the fact.  But this new unrest may be different because Boehner has been assuring wins and coming up short every time.

From CNN Political Ticker blog;

Both sources, one a Republican lawmaker and one a senior GOP staffer, said National Republican Congressional Committee chairman Pete Sessions took responsibility for the loss and promised to study the results and learn the lessons of the Burns’ defeat.

Both sources said they did not believe there would be an effort to replace Rep. Sessions as chairman of the NRCC, but said it was made clear there is deep dissatisfaction.

The accounts also exposed anew long festering tensions or rivalries among House Minority Leader John Boehner and some of his deputies in the leadership. The two sources, both from the more conservative factions of the House GOP caucus, noted it was the Ohio Republican who tapped Sessions for the NRCC’s top post and said most of the NRCC’s top staff have ties to Boehner.

“In baseball, general managers can only fire so many managers before their own neck is on the line – and Boehner knows that,” was the take of one of the sources, the senior GOP staffer who was at the meeting.
The source also told CNN that the NRCC “has a lot of explaining to do and frankly, needs a proctology exam. People that are paid to win races can’t keep losing them – especially now, in what is supposed to be the most favorable election cycle for Republicans in a generation.”

Read the rest here.

It seems that Leader Boehner might have more explaining to do than just how he became orange.

It isn't easy being orange - especially if you are already an Oompa Lompa. Poor John!
