Trust FOX?, You Shouldn’t

The writers here at LunaCanus are not, and have never claimed to be journalists. We try to look at the world and our nations issues from the standpoint of a common everyday person. Then we tell you what we think about what is happening and hope that you will agree. We try to present you with facts that back up what we say and never intentionally lie about a topic or a person.

That being said, I would like to ask all the wing nut, tea bagger, holy rolling, gun packing, right wing fringe followers out there why they are so loyal to FOX news? Is it that you like having lies told to you? Do you really want your news to come from the equivalent of a five year old child attempting to lie their way out of the last lie they told you?

On this topic I think we can all agree on one thing, when we look for news we are seeking some kernel of truth. Granted that different outlets will slant that truth in a wide variety of ways, but that same kernel of honesty should be at the core of the issue.  This is not the case with FOX news, nor has it been the case for some time, if ever.

When you knowingly edit video tapes to forward your political agenda, when you knowingly lie about an issue, when you set out to destroy a persons reputation and career you are no longer a news network.  You are a weapon in the hands of those you serve.  Your credibility is reduced to nothing and your so called news stories are viewed as political hatchet jobs.

Then you commit the crime that any parent would skewer their child for.  When caught in a lie, you tell an even bigger lie in a vain attempt to cover your ass.  Of course, you have already done the damage you set out to do by telling the lie in the first place, so you are happy.  In the meantime the entire neighborhood is left cleaning up after your dirty diapers.

FOX news is now more like a 24 hour a day infomercial.  They no longer report the news, they just make it up.  Just like the products you buy from the 3A.M. loudmouthed salesman on an infomercial, the product they sell never seems to be quite what they said it was.

So, as it is proven over and over and yet over again that FOX is a network of liars, I am forced to ask how long will you believe them?

Fox learned a valuable lesson from a TV show I watch.  On it a character talks about the story of the boy that cried wolf and why by the end of the story people did not believe him.  Upon hearing the tail the character named “Garek” says the problem was not that the boy lied, but that he told the same lie twice!

That is the level to which FOX news has sunk.  Attempting to fill the airwaves 24 hours a day with lies, while never repeating a lie.  They solved it by just hammering the same lie for a short period of time into the eyes of the viewers over and over and over and over and over again and again and again and again.

Shame on FOX.  Shame on their lies. Shame on their cover ups.  Shame on their lame ass excuses.  Shame on the so called journalists that make up the news and do not report it.  Shame on all those who have been lied to over and over and still believe the  children at FOX when they lie to you yet again.

Your brain extends beyond emotions and bodily functions.  Ir developed over a long time so that you can actually THINK!  I know it may hurt some of the hardcore FOX news junkies to put their brains through that much work, but I would like to ask them to think once in a blue moon for themselves and not just let Billo, Beck and Hannity do all the thinking for them fill their minds with falsehoods.

Just to illustrate how deluded the typical FOX viewer is, watch while Rachel Maddow shows Bill O’Rielly lies as he tries to cover for the lies his network already told.  They lie about their own lies folks!

Press Responds to Fox Lies

While the controversy over Fox News, Brietbart and the rest of the Shirley Sherrod scandal is still hot, we must continue  to draw attention to it.  Because Fox and pals deserve to be pilloried for their fake journalism and outright lies and also because this  needs to stay sharp in our minds in case anyone, ever again tries to tell us Fox is a legitimate news source.  We must make them understand character assassination is not journalism nor is it legitimate reporting on politics.

The legitimate,  hard working media and press has been responding to the Fox , Brietbart scandal by airing a whole lot of truth about this matter.  I will bring you two videos of popular newsmen responding to the Fox embarrassment.

First up, CNN’s Anderson Cooper;

This time, I must say Anderson Cooper tells it like it is.  Except I do want him to know, some people on the Internet do have standards and care very much about the truth.

Next, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann;

Keith even came away from his vacation to tape this.  Now that is dedication.  Somehow I cannot see Bill O’Reilly doing that.  I think he would put his pleasure before anything else, no matter how important it was.

Right Wing Political Smear

Posted under Fox Bull Plop,Hypocrisy,National Happenings,Right Wing Nuttery,Video, hate by brian on Thursday 22 July 2010 at 6:34 pm

Does anyone out there remember when Hillary Clinton said there was “a vast right wing conspiracy” and the way she was drug over the coals for even suggesting such a thing?

If events in the press over the last few days prove anything, it is that Hillary was most likely right.  Fox invented the tea baggers, or at the very least pushed them along for Dick Armey and his conservative Republican gang.  Fox accepts video and stories from right wing nut bloggers like Drudge and BrietBart at face value.  Fox never even slows down to check out any facts or ask any questions, they just rush the information onto national television.

But perhaps their latest foray into the land of the real journalists is going to finally show them and their accomplices up for what they are-frauds and pretenders without an iota of journalistic integrity.

Of course, I am referring to Shirley Sherrod, the NAACP and all the rest who have been unfairly caught in the Fox and Accomplices web of lies over the last few days.  As this whole thing plays out, we must be sure that Fox, Brietbart and the rest do not escape the truth this time.  They must suffer at least as much from legitimate media reporting as Ms. Sherrod suffered from their illegitimate media reporting. Actually, if there is really justice, they will suffer far more and deservedly so.

I know you have most likely seen the video of Shirley Sherrod that was viciously edited to make it seem she was espousing racist views when in reality it was exactly the opposite.  I will not show it  but for anyone that may have missed it, you can probably see it on You Tube.  I hope never to see it again and I am sure you feel the same.  I mean, how many times do you want to watch lies?

What I will do is show you a video of Rachel Maddow doing her normal good press work and taking the perpetrators of this lie apart…piece by evil, rotting flesh piece.

This should be the Fox News logo.

Know Thy Enemy

Posted under Elections,Fox Bull Plop,National Happenings,Right Wing Nuttery,Video by brian on Wednesday 21 July 2010 at 5:05 pm

The tribes and nations of mankind have had enemies since before our recorded history began.  Wars and conflicts seem to be a constant in our world.  Our ancestors fought wars over water, land and minerals.  The South American empires fought ‘flower wars’ where the idea on both sides was not to kill the enemy but capture them for required and needed sacrifice to their gods.  The 20th century saw war, death and human sacrifice on a scale unprecedented in our history.

Now we are in the 21st century of the Roman calendar.  We are also in the 11th millennium of our recorded history.  We have reached a point where an all out war on the part of many of our nations will result in the end of life on our planet.  Now the worlds super powers fight small wars.  Wars that often are one sided and mismatched against third world nations that are in reality not a threat.  Why do we do this?  It is good for business, that’s why.

What many of us fail to see is there is a war in which each and every one of us is on the front line.  We are fighting battles every day and as a people we seem to be losing the war.  We are having our attention diverted from this war by mass media outlets.  It is also apparent that factions of our media will tell outright lies in an attempt to divert our small attention spans from what is happening in our nation and the world in which we live.  They seem to tell these lies in a sad attempt to divide our nation into small reactionary factions that are easy to manipulate.

So who exactly are we at war with?  If we are losing so badly then where are all the casualties?  Where is the destruction, the burned out and abandoned cities?  Where are the refugees?  All you need do is look around you and you will see the destruction, the dead, the dying and the battlefield.

Many American people are smart enough to see this.  The conflicts in our nation between black and white, Christians  and Jews, Muslims and everyone else are being invented or massively hyped as a diversionary tactic.  At the same time we, the common American or world citizen are losing the real war.

If you cannot see the casualties of this war then I ask you to open your eyes and look.

The dead are buried and the dieing are currently suffering.  The dead and dieing resulted from a lack of health care due to insurance company greed and conservative political posturing. Among the dead in this conflict you must also include the miners, oil rig workers and others who have died due to a corporate attitude that lives are cheaper than proper safety precautions.

The refugees of this war are the thousands of Americans who have lost their homes due to the greed and criminal actions of our financial institutions.  They are also the hundreds of thousands of Americans who cannot find work.  Those who right wing politicians call ‘lazy’ and say are seeking flat screen T.V.’s in every room of the house.  That is their lame reason for denying extensions of unemployment benefits.

Other victims include the record number of children that go hungry every day in this ‘the greatest nation in the world’.  Not only do these children go hungry but they are undereducated and under stimulated.  By under stimulated I mean there are no longer programs that would encourage them to pursue interests in many areas.  Bands, art classes, after school programs and literacy programs have all but vanished in many parts of our nation.  While we doom entire generations of our children to be uneducated and hungry, giving them no hope, we build more and more prisons owned by private corporations to house them at taxpayer expense when they grow up and turn to crime.

Our cities and towns have been bombed.  Mind you, not with literal explosives that leave a pile of rubble but the result is almost the same.  As tent cities pop up in every major metropolitan area to serve as the new homes for many of our countrymen, the homes they lived in and businesses they ran now set empty.  The only value of the property is for a bank, lending institution or brokerage firm to list as an asset that they still manage to overvalue.

Our environment has literally been bombed.  It seems like explosions are the order of the day for corporations.  After spending a decade writing their own rules we now can see the results of corporate self control.  People dieing, environments destroyed, animals going extinct, oceans polluted, jobs lost, billions of dollars in damage, deception, lies and blaming the other guy.  Meanwhile the few government officials who receive the benefit of the richest corporations in the world claim we are extorting those same corporations and putting the boot heel of our government on their necks.  These same officials call for these richest of corporations to resume business as usual without regulation.

These same self serving elements in our government and the media whores they have hired claim that any attempt to regulate anything, anywhere at anytime will be bad for us.  What a surprise!  They are making hundreds of billions of dollars off exploiting, killing and poisoning the American people.  Why on earth would they want to change the status quo?

You see, the war we fight now is not fought with bullets, bombs and tanks.  It is fought over money, power and corruption in our own government.

It is quite simply a class war.  There is no skin tone to it, there is no religion to it.  It is about money and only money.  You can see that certain elements of the media and certain politicians are on the side of diversion and maintaining the way that Bush warped our country.  The new America is a country for, of and by the corporations.  The people be dammed.

How can we, the common American who is hard working or unemployed fight this war?

First is to attempt to deny the corporations their profit.  Buy and shop locally whenever you can.  Avoid the big discount stores and chains and go to your local diner for dinner instead of the chain restaurant.  Try if you can, to get solar or wind power to your home.  If you can, walk, ride a bike, or take a bus instead of your car for your errands.

The most important thing you can do right now is pay attention to what is going on.  Open your eyes to see beyond your own home and family and look at what our country has become.  Envision the future that we are creating for the next generation of Americans.  Remember the LIES that are being told to you from the corporations and certain media outlets and politicians.

THEN VOTE!!

That is the only place we can change things in our nation.  At the ballot box.  Forget the tea baggers who say they will start exercising their second amendment solutions and who call the nearly 15% of our people who are unemployed lazy.  VOTE for the man or woman who wants to see some control over these companies that are killing us in every way they can for a profit.

VOTE for the person you think will return control of our country to us and banish PACS, lobbyists and political bribery.

VOTE for the person who did not take the side of BP in wiping out the economy of the gulf states.

VOTE against the person who only will give softball  interviews to their own media whores on FOX and CBN!

Most importantly, no matter what I or anyone else has said….. VOTE!!

Voting is your right, your duty and what our founding fathers fought for.  Forget the commercials you see about revolutions for this tax or that law.  The revolution was fought by common men for one reason, a right to have a say in how their nation runs.  In other words it was fought for the right to VOTE.

VOTE your conscience, VOTE your beliefs, VOTE your heart…. but VOTE.

That is where our power lies.  That is where ‘we the people’ can band together with one voice.  That is where this class warfare will end,  But it will take all of us to bring that end.  If you stay home on voting day then you have effectively voted for the conservative, racist, right wing and corporate owned party.

This war can still be won.  The longer it goes on the more our laws and country change.  Stop it now and exercise your rights.

Watch the video to see Alan Grayson (D-FL) call out right wingers on their tactics to deny unemployment compensation for those who need it so very badly.

It is hard to believe the conservative Republican cry of best country in the world after seeing this reality.

Indict Bush and Cheney per Fox

Fox is losing ground.  Even some of its own people are starting to show the cracks brought on by constantly spouting lies and innuendo.  After a while, this stuff will catch up with you and it appears that Fox is feeling the nip of truth on their heels.

The video below is from a C-Span broadcast on July 11th.  After seeing this program, I waited for a storm of press reports and the inevitable questions for Fox.  It didn’t happen.

This video is astounding due to the fact that a frequent Fox contributor blatantly spits out the truth.  Not just any old truth either, Andrew Napolitano very forcefully comes out and says both George Bush and Dick Cheney should be indicted for acts they perpetrated while in office.

Amazing….just amazing.  Watch the video and see for yourself.

I do wonder how many more times we will be seeing Mr. Napolitano on Fox to share his views and give comment.  My bet would be you will have to watch Fox for quite some time and at very off hours to see him.  So if he is one of your favorite Fox commentators, try listening to what he is saying here, you might get enlightened.

A bunch of Fox nitwits. Cute, aren't they?

Help Hold Fox Accountable

Posted under Fox Bull Plop,Hypocrisy,Right Wing Nuttery, hate by brian on Saturday 22 May 2010 at 4:50 pm

Fox News is now and has been for as long as I can remember, a thinly disguised shill for the Republican Party.  But since their collaboration with Dick Armey to pull the tea baggers together to protest, they have gone entirely off the deep end.

Rupert Murdoch is old and he must be getting at least a little senile to believe that it is okay to just say anything you want  and cloak it in the guise of news.  It seems he has created a news network that has little to do with journalism or the legitimate press.  What he has assembled is a group of malcontents and crazies like Glenn Beck and given them the keys to the network.  Anything goes and now it appears his hosts and anchors are engaged in a race to the bottom of the barrel armed with their scrapers.

We need to let the old Mr. Murdoch know, Roger Ayles and he cannot control our airwaves.  They need to learn that enough is enough and the vast majority of the American public believe in a free press that is not a froth at the mouth political wing masquerading as press.

From Color of Change;

John Stossel, a Fox News contributor and business anchor, said Thursday that a central piece of the Civil Rights Act should be repealed — the part that says businesses that serve the public can’t discriminate on the basis of race.

Fox News, as expected is starting to echo the Kentucky Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul.  He is the darling of the tea bagger set, so naturally he will be the darling of Fox News too.

Color of Change is the organization that petitioned Glenn Becks sponsors and drove most of them away.  Please sign their petition which will be delivered to Rupert Murdoch.  Lets have lots of signatures and get the old boys attention, at least for a minute or two.  He really needs to hear from a big chunk of Americans who are no longer willing to put up with the Fox bull puckey.

If he does nothing about it, at least we will have drawn attention to Stossel and his racist comments.  Perhaps if we are lucky, we will also ruin Murdochs day.

Murdoch needs to understand we are Americans not Australians.  If he wants to interfere in politics he should do it in his own country.  Even though he became an American citizen in 1985 to get around the law saying only American citizens could own American television stations, he doesn’t seem to be much of an American.  The kicker is he says he won’t comment on Australian elections because he always gets in trouble when he does.  His move to American citizenship resulted in his losing  Australian citizenship.  This guy will even abandon his country in the pursuit of money and power.  What a piece of work.

Sign the petition here.

Take to the seas Rupert, you don't belong to Australia and most of America doesn't want you. The seafaring pirate life will fit well with your business "principles".

Lewis Black Targets Beck

By BobbiV

Lewis Black is one of my very favorite comedians.  His satirical rantings against politics and stupidity in general never fail to amuse me.

Last week on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Lewis Black was on with one of his segments called Back in Black.  This time he was ranting about Glenn Beck, the Fox tea baggers supreme leader.  The bit was later broadcast on Countdown with Keith Olbermann.   Yes, it is that funny.

In case you missed it last week, I thought I would put it up here so you could get a laugh.  God knows, we all could use one right about now.

This is the replay of the segment on Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Relax for a minute and enjoy comic genius at work.  Fair warning, to protect your computer and monitor, don’t have anything to drink while watching this.  Spraying sensitive electronics with coffee, soda or any other liquid can ruin them or at the very least cause a big mess.

Beck Viewer Hemorrhage

Posted under Fox Bull Plop,Hypocrisy,National Happenings,Right Wing Nuttery, hate by brian on Thursday 29 April 2010 at 6:25 pm

By BobbiV

Glenn Beck has lost one third of his audience since January.  Is it because of the boycott by his sponsors?  Or, dare we hope that this imbeciles fifteen minutes are just about up?  Whatever the reason, this does not bode well for Beck or Fox News because they bank on him so heavily.

I personally think, he has just about reached the maximum he can as far as viewership and there is no where to go from there but down.  After his disastrous interview of Democratic House Member Eric Massa where Beck thought he would embarrass the Democratic Party and ended up only embarrassing himself, I think maybe some of his viewers saw the light.

Another thing is Beck’s heavy involvement with the tea baggers and his idiocy about showing everyone the plan that God gave only to him.  The tea baggers, the wing nuts from both sides and the Republican Party in general are losing steam.  Maybe they are tired of Beck.

From Media Matters;

Prior to the Massa Moment, Glenn Beck was averaging 2.6 million viewers each week, and the show was still flying high. And in the short term, the wildly hyped Massa episode produced ratings gold, generating 3.4 million viewers that night, thank you very much. Long-term though, the effects have proven to be disastrous.

As I noted two weeks ago, Glenn Beck’s ratings are down this spring. Now it’s clear those declines are accelerating and there are no signs of a rebound. So what does that mean for Beck, Fox News, and the Tea Party movement?

First, the latest Nielsen low: Glenn Beck just posted another ratings low for this year. The new mark was set last Thursday when the show attracted 1.82 million viewers. The host’s previous, non-vacation low for 2010 had been 1.97 million viewers. That low-ebb mark was set on April 9.

Read the rest here.

Lets hope the trend continues for both Glenn Beck and the tea baggers he loves so much.

Glenn is not taking this well at all.
