Acceptable Trends?

Posted under Hypocrisy,National Happenings,Religion,Video, hate by brian on Wednesday 24 March 2010 at 6:01 pm

When in this nation did it become acceptable to act like an ass toward those you do not agree with?

When did it we start thinking it was o.k. to threaten, bully and insult others for what they believe in or think?

When did our Constitution become a document of convenience to be used only in support of a certain religion or way of thinking?

When did the American people start to accept lying, cheating, money hungry religious fanatics as our elected officials?

When did giving one whit about your fellow countrymen become a sinful crime against the nation?

When did the American people start speaking through slanted and biased polls for either party, or a private firm, and not through the election process?

It appears to me that we have accepted all of the above quite recently.  Within the last twenty years as a matter of fact.

We find ourselves today in a very polarized nation, one where our freedoms are threatened by a minority that wish to impose their will and belief system over all of us.  They claim to speak for the majority of the American people but fail to see that we spoke in a majority during the last election.

When the 2000 election was stolen by a halt of the vote count in Florida by “W” the American people were told to get over it.  When the 2004 election was stolen by rigged computer voting machines in key states we were told to get over it.  In 2008 when the vote was so one sided and massive against one party that the results could not be hidden the people truly spoke, but there is a small portion of our society that cannot heed their own words and get over it.

Today they claim to speak for the “majority of Americans” even while they are the minority party.  This my friends, is not possible.  Our government is running the way it should and along the guidelines set forth by our founding fathers.  The corruption of the last administration is being removed and our world reputation is being restored.  For this people protest.

Now things are going past the joke stage.  That was the stage of saying that the officials doing the will of the American people were “Communist, Nazi, Socialist”, and “witch doctors” and “Muslims” and any other words you could think of that were against our nation.  That ploy did not work.

Yes, things have moved far past this stage.  Now the brown shirts of this party and religious group are doing what brown shirts have throughout time and in every culture.  They threaten and intimidate.  They rant and they rave.  They go against every principle their nation stands for to get their way.

Recently we have seen actions that are not becoming a human being, let alone an American citizen.  Like little bawling babies who are throwing a tantrum the conservative Republican Christians are acting out.  Sadly these are semi-intelligent homo-sapiens  and like any semi-intelligent creature they pose a real threat.

Abandoning intelligent debate and conversation long ago for shouting matches, going beyond spitting on the handicapped and infirm in our nation who they deem unworthy, passing the point of yelling racial and biased remarks they have moved to cowardly violence.

These big brave persons, and I use the term person loosely, resort to nighttime attacks of throwing rocks through windows.  They are so brave that they sneak into peoples yards and cut gas lines in the orgasmic hope their opponents house will explode.  They are so bold as to threaten the lives of the children of their political opponents,  without saying who they are of course.

So this is America today?

Our founding fathers who signed their NAMES on the Declaration of Independence would be ever so proud of you cowardly lions!

The really sad thing is that there are those currently and formerly elected that give tacit approval to these actions and even encourage them.  Elected and wholly owned shills of corporations that incite these fringe elements then back off when the kooks do as they were instructed.  They will go down in history as traitors to our nation, following gold coins wherever the silk rope around their neck leads them.  Lieing, cheating and stealing to get power is their calling, not the good of the American people.

Your predominantly white, mostly old, and primarily southern Christian brotherhood is no threat to this nation.  You support leaders that like little boys, dress in diapers with their hookers and hike to Argentina.  Your C street cult has been exposed and few in our nation take you seriously as a party.

We do however take your violence against our leaders seriously and we will hunt you down no matter how deep a hole you find in which to hide yourself.  You can be a night time coward and threaten children for only so long.  The majority of the American people will not stand for or tolerate your racist and subversive agenda.

Watch the video as the pride of Fox News, Glenn Beck is shown for what he really is and his followers are shown for what they also are.  It is not pretty and does not lead to pride in this nation.

See what I mean?  Not exactly pride inducing actions or thoughts.

These lemmings are following Rush Limbaugh, but you get the idea. Same thing-different packages.

Churches Dumping Glenn Beck

Glenn Beck appears to be an equal opportunity insulter.  Now he has even managed to get some Evangelicals and their churches fed up with his bull.

One Evangelical leader is going so far as to call for a boycott of The Glenn Beck Show on Fox and challenging Beck himself to a debate.  Of course, we all know the little weasel wouldn’t debate anyone, especially someone with knowledge of his subject and more than two functioning brain cells.

It stands to reason that Christian conservatives, Evangelicals and Fundamentalists along with teabaggers make up Beck’s audience.  So this move against Beck and his show must seem like an inside move to discredit his teachings to Beck.  But maybe he should have thought of this before he told his audience to leave their churches if they preached social justice.  He most definitely should have taken pause before he compared these same churches to Communists and Nazis.

However, Glenn Beck is not the brightest bulb in the chandelier.  He thinks everything he says is correct and he never thinks before he blurts.  His lame defense of his falsehoods is to claim he didn’t say them, even though they are on tape for all the world to see.

From CNN;

The Rev. Jim Wallis, president of Sojourners, a network of progressive Christians, says Beck perverted Jesus’ message when he urged Christians last week to leave churches that preach social and economic justice.

Beck told his audience that they should leave churches that preach “economic and social justice.” Wallis says Beck compared those churches to Communists and Nazis.

Wallis says at least 20,000 people have already responded to his call to boycott Beck. He says Beck is confusing his personal philosophy with the Bible.

“He wants us to leave our churches, but we should leave him,” Wallis says of Beck. “When your political philosophy is to consistently favor the rich over the poor, you don’t want to hear about economic justice.”

Read the rest here.

Now the question would appear to be, how long will Fox continue to put up with the constant chaos that surrounds Beck?  Or is the attention all that this network seeks?  I would think ad revenue would be one of their first concerns because they claim to be such good Capitalists.  If they are, wouldn’t profit be the big incentive?

As Bugs would say “What a bunch of maroons.”

This sign in front of a church says it all.

Bachmann is Still Crazy

Posted under Elections,House,Hypocrisy,Religion,Right Wing Nuttery,Tea Bagg Protests by admin on Wednesday 10 March 2010 at 6:25 pm

I’m keeping with crazy Republican wingnut women today it seems.  I already told you about birther Orly Taitz’s recent idiocy.  Now I thought I’d let you know what has been going on with one of my favorite House critters, Republican Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.  As usual she does not disappoint in the nutty department.

First of all, Bachmann thinks teabaggers need to make more noise.  That’s right more noise.  Secondly, this zany Christian conservative wants to repeal separation of church and state.  She wants to give Christians back their First Amendment rights.  Her words, not mine.

Bachmann also says Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California hates her and that she has been made Pelosi’s number one target.  Paranoid much?

From The Minnesota Independent;

During Monday’s Hot Tea Radio Show U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann told listeners that she’s “fighting for my political life,” called for a repeal of the separation of church and state, and said that tea partiers need to “literally start banging garbage lids together” to defeat health care reform.

Right off the bat, Bachmann offered a refrain often made in her media appearances, that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is personally targeting her in the 2010 election (last month she went so far as to say Pelosi “hates” her). It’s a claim that was recently proven misleading by the Star Tribune, and even Bachmann’s handlers say it’s not quite true. She told listeners:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has made me her number-one target for defeat politically this November at the ballot box, and trust me, she has all the money and all the volunteer power to make that happen. So, I am in the process of fighting for my political life so that I’m not defeated. She knows it’s vulnerable for me to speak out and take a very strong stand against this leap toward socialism but my opinion is I was sent to DC to do a job, and I’m going to do it.

Read the rest here.

I really hope this woman is defeated in the November Congressional elections.  She really gives the House a bad name.  I also hope she uses that great health insurance she gets from her job to seek counseling for her mental problems.

This is a picture of Michele Bachmann unmasked and relaxing among her friends.

Spinning it to God

Post  by BobbiV

I have been watching and participating in politics for the past forty plus years.  One thing I have seen over and over again is the twisting of truth into a pretzel by any politician caught red handed in any type of skulduggery.  I have also seen many politicians and other public figures loudly proclaiming how their religion has saved them from the evil road they were following.  There isn’t a dimes worth of difference between a Democratic or a Republican public confession.  They all cry, they all call out to religion and they all ask forbearance and forgiveness.

Yeah, right.  If they were following that religion so closely, it seems to me they would have thought at least twice before they embarked upon their ‘evil’ journey.

However, that is really of no matter to me at this point.  Public figures are going to hire the best public relations firms that will put the best spin on their transgressions and set them on the path to redeeming their public image.  That is the way it is.  They call it spin but I call it lies.  But the end result is the same….they go on about their merry way and they get by with whatever they have done without much of a price paid.

The question that keeps popping into my mind is how are you going to spin it to God?  When you die, and you will, according to you you will meet God and be judged for your sins.  Okay, you can believe that if you want.  My question is still how will you spin it to God?

George W. Bush – when you meet your God and he asks you why all those people died in a war you lied your country into, what are you going to answer?  When He reminds you that His son was a child of the very people you were bombing indiscriminately, how will you respond?  How will you spin over 200,000 deaths from your orders?

Richard Cheney – When you meet your God and he asks you about the bearing false witness thing, what will you say?  How will you respond when He says torture includes many of the things you promoted as justifiable?

John Ensign, Mark Sanford and William Clinton – When you meet your God and He asks you about adultery, will you say you didn’t think it was really a Commandment but more of a suggestion?  Will you all claim ignorance?

Michele Bachman – When you meet your God, how will you spin your hate mongering and your suggestion that mass suicide or murder is the answer?  How will you explain not wanting the least of God’s children to receive relief from pain and suffering by being allowed to see a doctor?

Sarah Palin – When you meet your God and He asks you about the outright lies you made up and promoted for political gain, what will your response be?  When He asks you about using one of his special children as a prop for your ambitions, how will you answer?

Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck – When you meet your God and he asks you about the hate you promoted in his name, how will you spin it?  When He says His Son died for you out of love and not hate, how will you ever justify yourself?

This list and these questions could go on for scandal after scandal.  The American public has been spun so much we are dizzy and we are tired of it.

The next time a public figure turns to religion as they spin their failures I want just one member of the press corps to stand up and ask “Is this the way you are going to explain it to God?” or ” How will you spin this to your Maker when you meet Him?”

It is your religion, not mine.  But one thing I know for sure.  You had better pray really hard that your God is a He and not a She.  Because if it is a woman, she will pull the lever on the trapdoor that will drop you to Hell in a nanosecond.  Trust me on that one.

Neither Gods nor Goddesses have any tolerance for spin but Goddesses are quicker on the trigger.

This is the view from the VIP quarters at the Hell Hotel. Guess what? Its the same as everyone elses view. There is no special treatment here, so change your ways or start to be afraid now. After all, it IS your religion.

Texas and Our Textbooks

Posted under Hypocrisy,National Happenings,Religion,Right Wing Nuttery,Video, education by brian on Saturday 20 February 2010 at 3:41 pm

Hey all you parents out there, did you know that Texas controls a lot of what is printed in your children’s school texts?  If they want to teach creationism and not evolution, we have to follow.  Right?  Yes, unless a whole lot of us stand up and say absolutely no way.

Not only do they want creationism taught, they want your children to be taught dinosaurs roamed the earth with humans and the Founding Fathers intended this to be a nation of Christians.  They have a lot of other craziness they would like children to be taught too.  I don’t want to see the kids of this nation dumbed down any further and I surely don’t want lies taught about the founders of this nation.

But, as I said before if the conservative Christians and Republicans of Texas have their way, your kids are going to be taught to be the next generation of teabaggers and wingnuts.  That is, unless we all stand up and say NO.  Education is just too important to be messed around with.  This country is already way too far behind in math and science.  If these people have their way, science will be a thing of the past.

Watch the video as The Young Turks explain how this is happening.  Then please take the time to let your local school board know you are not going to go for this craziness.  Thinking people in Texas need to stand up too.

How Cold are You?

Posted under Hypocrisy,National Happenings,Religion by brian on Sunday 14 February 2010 at 2:31 pm

What is the definition of humanity?  How will your soul be measured  before whatever God you worship?  Do you think you will be measured by the amount of compassion you showed the others that inhabit the planet with us?  Or do you think you will be measured by the amount of gold, silver or dollars you can stack at the feet of those who will ultimately judge your fate?

I know of no religion anywhere on the face of the planet that allows you to buy your way past judgment.  I know of no teaching that tells you to extract pain and suffering from your fellow earthly creatures.  Sadly, many of our fellow God fearing neighbors would condemn caring and loving members of our world to a life of pain and suffering.

As those who always seek a sense of power and control over others have done throughout history they choose the weakest link in society to exploit. They prey on those from which they can profit, whether it be by imprisonment and forced breeding, medical experiments or simply in the end by sticking them in an oven.

Today rather than seeking prey in our fellow human beings, the predators have evolved.  Rather than choose victims that can turn around and charge them with crimes or seek revenge in later years they go after those that will worship them as Gods no matter how badly they are treated.   These callous and cold blooded reptiles that disguise themselves as members of our race prey on the most defenseless members of our society.  They prey on animals.  Their victims are dogs, cats, horses, puppies and kittens.

They prey on those who will love and devote their very lives to any that would be their friend.  Stories of animals saving the lives of humans, giving them comfort and contributing to our evolution are a matter of fact, not fables.  More than one animal is documented having sacrificed its own life to save its master.

We know as a civilization that animals protect and defend us.  They comfort us in times of need and soothe our souls at the time we pass.  They work for us, herd our cattle and serve as eyes and extensions of our own bodies when those bodies fail us.  Our payment for this devotion, from some, is a very short life filled with misery and pain.

There are many amongst us that devote themselves to helping those that have been exploited.  Many devote time and money, others adopt animals that have been abused.  Still more open their homes as a temporary sanctuary for these animals until a permanent loving home can be found for them.  Others work on behalf of our wildlife and seek to right government policies that in the end would be  just as harmful to us as a species as they are for the exploited and slaughtered wildlife.

I find it strange that as the numbers of those who commit their time and resources to defending animals grows, their work also grows and never seems to be done.  In fact, many groups have recently discovered some of the largest animal abusers ever.  Were these people always there?  Have they been a blight on our society for years and are just now being found out?

There are some simple steps we can all take to aid our fellow creatures.  Many would require no money and very little time on your part.  One is to spay and neuter your pets.  This will greatly help reduce the numbers of dogs and cats in shelters seeking loving homes, the majority of which end up being put to sleep.   If you vote anyway, this is a simple one for you.  Vote against bills,  legislation and even politicians that support the destruction of our wildlife, also vote for any laws in your area that stiffen the penalty for animal abuse and increase funding for enforcement officers.

Next, if you are going to add a member to your family, adopt that member from a shelter and do not buy it at a pet store.  If you have your heart set on a pure bred pet then buy from a breeder or look into a breed specific rescue program.  The last thing you can do is report animal abuse if you are aware of it.  Just like with spousal or child abuse cases, someone knows it is happening and does nothing about it.  By simply reporting the crime you have taken a major step in putting an end to it.

I hate to trend back to religion, but God created these creatures as well as us.  In some religious beliefs the spirits of animals are more powerful than our own.  In others we have been told we are the caretakers of this world.  There is no religious teaching I know of that justifies the pain and suffering some of us inflict on animals.

I guess it just boils down to how cold you are.  If you can commit these acts, or witness them and do nothing then your blood must run cold indeed.  Compassion for others has never been a sin or a crime.

Iraqi Ultimatum

Posted under Hypocrisy,Military,Religion,World Happenings, courts, hate by brian on Wednesday 10 February 2010 at 3:36 pm

Today the government of Iraq issued an order, a warning and an ultimatum to all current and former employees of the company formerly known as Blackwater which currently has a screwed up name.  The order they issued is quite simple.  Get out of our country or face the consequences.

Just to refresh your memory Blackwater is the mercenary corporation army that the Bush administration thought  was so good for use in the Iraq war.  Bush just loved them because the corporation is run by a born again Christian zealot with CIA ties and he also wants to bring on ‘the final battle’ as described in the Bible.

I can hardly say that I blame the Iraqis.  After all, if you can name a crime then the men that worked for and ran Blackwater operations in Iraq are more than likely accused of it.  For being supposed Christian soldiers of God engaged in some sort of holy war they acted more like thugs with guns, stooping to extreme levels of depravity.  But it was all done under the cover of American military action.

The height of Blackwater’s crimes came when a group of their ‘soldiers’ went on a drunken shooting spree while manning a roadblock.  The result was seventeen dead unarmed and defenseless men women and children.  Pictures of the aftermath of this unwarranted shooting spree showed burned out and bullet ridden cars that held entire families at the time of the attack upon them.  Rather than answering for their crimes, Blackwater sneaked the men involved out of Iraq and beyond the reach of justice.  Then to quiet Iraqi protest they sent one million dollars of tax payer funds,  money paid to them by the United States government to bribe local officials and buy the silence of the Iraq government.

There is an entire laundry list of accusations against Blackwater and its contractors.  They can, and have changed their name in an attempt to distance themselves from their actions but people of good conscience are continuing to pursue these criminals.  Someof what Blackwater is accused of is: weapons smuggling, selling weapons to enemy combatants, use of child prostitutes, murder, rape, and drug smuggling.

Just the type of guys I want walking through the streets of my town, drunk, stoned and armed to the teeth looking for a person to shoot or a child to molest.  How bout you?

I cannot say that I blame the people of Iraq for wanting to see this element removed from their country.  What I am surprised at is the fact that they are actually giving the notice to leave.  If a group of men or a company was doing the same in a city in our nation we would not serve notice about arresting them, we would just do it.

What I would like to know is why our nation is giving money and protection to these accused war criminals?  Why do these murderers get to put on a uniform and go out and kill civilians in the name of the United States?  Do you really expect a father whose child has just been murdered in cold blood by an American to distinguish the difference between a military contractor and a legitimate member of our armed forces?  After the killings, once those who committed the crime were long gone and safe, it was our armed forces that had to deal with the grief, hate and wish for revenge.  I am sure at least one American soldier paid the ultimate price for this group of cowards.

I can only hope our own government will draw a similar line and tell these war criminals that they are no longer welcomed in our nation as well.

See the Aswat al-Iraq press release about this expulsion here.

The US should have left this man and his soverign country alone. They did not attack us and we certainly should never have inflicted Blackwater on them.

The US should have left this man and his country alone. They did not attack us and we certainly should never have inflicted Blackwater on them.

A Disturbing Trend

Posted under Hypocrisy,National Happenings,Religion,Right Wing Nuttery,Tea Bagg Protests, hate by brian on Saturday 6 February 2010 at 3:49 pm

As many of you are aware I am an amateur student of history and am very disturbed by some of the trends gaining momentum in our nation today.

The groups behind these trends ignore history.  For the speakers of these groups it is the history of the words that they have spoken before.  For others it is the selective choice of remembering only those words and actions taken by past leaders of this nation that suit their argument at the time.  Still more pick and choose threads of our nations history and weave it into some form of perverted patriotic quilt that they wrap themselves in to justify their actions.  World history is ignored by these people except when it comes to religion and when the written words of history do not match their views they are ambitious and arrogant enough to begin rewriting that history to suit their needs.

The leaders of these groups gain and motivate their followers like conductors of a orchestra but theirs is not music to be sung.  Instead it is fear, hate and national pride to be trumpeted.  Fear of change and the unknown.  Hate of those who look, sound or believe different than them and pride in those selected threads of the perverted patriotic quilt.  The leaders are on a quest as well.  Their followers are nothing but tools to be used to obtain their goals.  What they want is what all who have led such groups seek throughout time, money and power. They seek wealth at the expense of others, power over their followers and the right to judge those they see as unfit to be part of their great vision that would be our future.

Fear and hate are the pablum that runs these groups.  You name it, they can find a reason to either fear or hate it.  If a person is too smart then they are deemed an intellectual, which in their circle is an insult.  If a person is too popular then  they are a celebrity, a term that can never apply to their leaders no matter how popular they are.  If a person is too wealthy and does not agree with them then that person is an elitist.  If a person has the wrong skin tone then they must be foreign.  If a leader cares about the common man then he is a socialist.  If the leader cares about protecting our jobs then he is a communist.  If a leader seeks to regulate unfair business and banking interests then he is a Nazi.  If a leader seeks health care for his people then he is not just a witch doctor but a communist witch doctor.

The list goes on.  If a leader seeks to follow our own laws then he is weak on defense of our nation.  If a person does not follow your religious beliefs but finds solace or redemption in his own religion, they are a heretic.  If a person is not smart enough or cannot speak the English language well enough then they should not be allowed to vote even if they are an American citizen.  The government is bad, out to get you and working against you unless of course you elect the leader telling you these things to lead that very same government.

Via the tattered threads of their patriotic quilt they claim to represent those who are ‘real Americans’.  I am forced to wonder just what they consider to be real Americans.  It is obvious they do not consider the person who came to this country, took a citizenship test and was naturalized to be a real American.  They do not consider a man who’s father was from another country but who was born in our nation and went on to become President of The United States to be a real American.  They do not consider those who come here and serve our country in the military in exchange for citizenship to be real Americans.  However, they are happy to sit and laugh and chuckle at the remarks of a man who is just a second generation immigrant make jokes about how all these people should not count in our country today.

The followers of these groups do what followers do best.  They believe because they know no better.  They mock those who may not be able to say a word while they proudly display their literacy with banners that misspell the very same words.  They live in the fear their leaders instill in them and they wave the flag and yell.  They buy into paranoia and load their guns, but fear the future that our nation must embrace.  They weave the threads of fear and national pride into a tapestry that is a perversion of our nation, our law and our heritage.  They seek some reason, any reason, to feel superior to those around them and revel in that false feeling.  They twist our country and our history to fit their narrow vision of the way things should be.

What they fail to remember is that under our Constitution, our Declaration of Independence and our Bill of Rights is that we are ALL equal.  We ALL have a say as to the path our nation will take.  We are ALL Americans regardless of how many generations we have been here, skin tone, religious belief, sexual orientation, education level or geographic location.

They can hold their rallies.  They can hold their conventions.  They can claim they speak for the common man while sitting in a room at a $300.00 dollar dinner surrounded by servants and fine crystal.  They can sell their symbols of defiance for $100 bucks a pop and pay six figures to their leaders to talk to them.  To me it looks like a great way to just pass the money around amongst yourselves and give you a feeling that you are important.  There will be no ‘common men or women’ there because the common American cannot afford to be part of your movement.  You have by process of greed made it so the majority of your own followers cannot even afford to come and hear the pearls of wisdom and patriotism that drip from your wine stained lips!

You see, you can rewrite our nations history for your own means.  You can and are rewriting the Bible to fit the future you want your followers to see.  You can condemn those who are smart, dumb, heretics, black, brown, red or yellow.  You can delude many to your banner but you cannot hide one thing.  You cannot hide your greed and lust for power.  It is there and ever present and you cannot escape it.

There was at one time another group like this in a democratic nation.  They talked about national pride and glory.  They twisted the nations history to paint a pretty picture of how superior they were to everyone else.  They yelled and screamed how they were being oppressed.  They eventually came to power and destroyed the nation they claimed to be the champions of.  They were led by a power hungry nobody named Adolph who just wanted power and revenge.  That was in the 1930′s and I hope and pray that in the future our sons and daughters will not look back on the 2010′s and say “they should have stopped this”.

Our nations history is there for all to see.  What we stand for and die for is well documented.  To allow that history to be twisted and perverted is a crime against those who came before us.  It would be better for our nation to fall defending its principles than allow it to be hijacked by some group that would twist it into an abomination.

Our country is made up of men and women who want freedom.  A great American once said: “now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country”.  Well folks, now is the time.  Now we must stand up and make sure our nation keeps to the path that those who came before us put it on.  Now is the time for us to once again show what it is that makes the United States Of America a great nation, a beacon of freedom, a bastion of justice and  a light of hope shinning into the future.  We cannot let this be our nations version of the 1930′s or we all shall suffer.

Now before you all go grabbing your pitchforks and torches to come and lynch me I would like to point out to you that by ANY definition you have stated I am a ‘real American’.  So you should take what I have to say with an open mind.  My family first came to this soil in the 1750′s and members of it have served this nation in every major conflict with distinction.  Many of your leaders are still what you, by the terms of your own paranoid movement would call foreigners by comparison.

The mammoth would be a good symbol for the 'back to the dark ages' new brand of conservatism.

The mammoth would be a good symbol for the 'back to the dark ages' new brand of conservatism.
