We Are Wisconsin Film – Tickets

We are Wisconsin the Film Coming Soon

There is a documentary film that has been made which chronicles the public reaction to Scott Walker,his reign and his effect on Wisconsin politics. There will be a sneak preview of the film on Friday March 9th in Madison, Wisconsin.

I promised the We are Wisconsin people on Twitter that I would put up a notification on this blog so that all you Wisconsinites and wanna be Wisconsinites get a chance to at least try to make it.  Here is what they have to say in their announcement;

Description:

A “Sneak Preview” of We Are Wisconsin, a feature documentary film by award-winning director Amie Williams that follows the day-to-day unfolding of the public outcry against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s controversial budget-repair bill. When Wisconsin’s newly elected Governor Scott Walker introduces a bill that threatens to wipe away worker rights and lock out public debate, six ordinary Wisconsinites join thousands of protestors at the State Capitol, building a citizen-driven uprising that not only challenges the bill, but the soul of a nation
.

I really wish I could go to this event. However, due to finances and my health right now, I am limited as far as my social functions are concerned. The fact that it is about 1,000 miles away makes a difference too.

Seriously, if you can get there, it would be a really great thing to do and it sounds like it would be educational plus interesting. Here is the link you need to purchase tickets;

Go and have a wonderful evening. Don’t forget to report back here on what you see and do. This Wisconsin film should be really good.

In order to comply with recent law, I must let you know I have no financial interest in this Wisconsin film and do not earn money from the sale of tickets.

Whitney Stops The World

The media should get smaller letters and just put up GOSSIP. They can no longer call themselves news suppliers. Besides, don't we have a whole cable network or two already devoted to the latest about celebrities?

Last night I had one of those rare nights where I had trouble sleeping. At 3am I flipped over to CNN and the funeral for singer/songwriter Whitney Houston had already started live coverage. Now as I write this it is almost noon and the live media coverage is still going strong.

Meanwhile I guess all the rest of the world is just sitting by and watching….or not!

CNN is supposed to be a news network. In fact that is what the NN stands for. While the death of a celebrity is news it is not the only news in the world. A news organization should report it and move on, enough said.

Today though, the death of a star is a major press event. News agencies want everyone on camera who ever saw that person or shook their hand. They want to show us how they lived and died leaving no stone unturned, no shred of privacy and I am sorry to say little if any dignity.

While the 99% protest, Republicans seek to bust our unions, our environment is destroyed and hundreds die in conflicts for basic freedom the news networks ignore that for a funeral.

I am not in any way attempting to downgrade the works of any artist but I am forced to ask if this is the right thing for a supposed news network to do. Commemorate the death of a singer by listening to their songs and reliving the memories that those tunes bring back. Commemorate them for yourself because you did not know them, you only knew their work and the impact that work had on you. Pay tribute to them by honoring their work.

But, let their family and loved ones grieve in peace and report the news. Now it seems we are more involved with death than we are with our ongoing lives. If that is the case then CNN should cover the funeral of every solider that dies in war. CNN should cover ever funeral in the middle east of innocent civilians.

They will not do that however. They should not do it for a star either.

Whitney Houston was a great singer/songwriter and Whitney will be sorely missed.. She had a voice that haunts the heart with its clarity and range. Honor her by making sure that voice is heard not only today but many other days in the future.

Report her death because that is news, the rest is just a way to fill airtime and gain ratings You are behaving like paparazzi, not the legitimate press.

Poor Mitt Romney’s Dog

By this time, unless you have had your head firmly buried in the sand, you are aware that Mitt Romney is a very bad animal guardian and possibly should never be allowed to have a pet. This is because of his treatment of the Irish Setter Seamus. Simply put, Mitt Romney, the man who would be President of the United States under the Republican imprimatur, abused Seamus.

To be fair to Mitt Romney, he says he didn’t know there was a law against strapping your dog in a carrier to the top of the car and then going on a twelve hour trip down super highways at speeds over 50 miles per hour.  I know, I know common sense and all that rot. But Mitt Romney has made it perfectly clear to the people of this country that he is in no way common. The Seamus incident attests to that fact. Mitt Romney’s dog was very badly treated.

Watch the video below to see what Mitt Romney’s dog himself might say about the treatment he received at the hands of the uncommon Mitt Romney.

There are Republicans and conservatives and even tea baggers who love and treat their pets very well. I would assume they would never strap their beloved pet to the top of their car for a trip. However, Mitt Romney is not one of them.

If nothing else this incident proves this man is unfit to be president because he has bad judgement and poor decision making skills. I don’t see how anyone could disagree with that.
